Evergreen Awards 2025 – Built on a Firm Foundation

Exxaro employees recently gathered at the beautiful Avianto venue for the Annual Evergreen Awards – a day dedicated to celebrating excellence, resilience, and the people who form the foundation of the company’s success. From the very first moment, the event carried a sense of pride and anticipation, with every detail thoughtfully crafted to reflect the theme, “Built on a Firm Foundation – Exxaro’s Next Growth Phase.”

The theme drew inspiration from the idea of strength, structure, and purposeful progress. Building blocks and Jenga became the central symbol – representing how individual contributions come together to form something lasting. Visually, this was brought to life through natural wood finishes, layered structures, and the use of Exxaro’s brand colours of green, brown, and white. The building block and Jenga motif carried through the décor, branding, trophies, and even the opening performance, tying the entire experience together in a meaningful way.

The celebration opened with a powerful performance by Lebo Mashile, who not only served as MC but set the tone with an inspiring poetry act alongside dancers. As the dancers moved, they built a life-size block structure piece by piece, symbolising resilience, stability, and the importance of working together.

Guests were treated to heartfelt recognition of individual and team achievements, each award met with applause and admiration. Between the formalities, Ami Faku brought warmth and vibrancy to the atmosphere, adding a celebratory rhythm that perfectly complemented the awards.
