Are we allowed to say that to develop the decor concept of some events are more fun than others?
Momentum had a very clear brief for this event for 500 employees – it was to be a stylish, picnic style lunch; decorated in white, with touches of green. Guests were asked to dress accordingly.
Sorex Estate’s vast green lawns were the perfect setting for our white stretch tents. White flags lined next to the road lead up to the tent and arrival area where white cocktail tables were placed between giant pinwheels. The festive feeling was enhanced by the use of white bunting and supersized balloons inside the tent. Guests were seated on white Wimbledon chairs at the eight long tables dressed in white linen. Ruscus, green apples and bunches of sticks created garlands down the table centres.
The white-washed wooden boxes set at each setting were used by guests to “forage” from the tasty picnic fare served at the eight food stations. Each station had its own theme – ranging from filled French baguettes to hotdogs and hamburgers, Sushi, chicken and vegetable curries, salads, and of course ending with a dessert table loaded with sweets and ice cream.
A saxophonist and an accordion player set the mood by playing French tunes on arrival. During lunch they picked up the pace and moved onto contemporary songs; after lunch a professional DJ took over and made sure that the party continued on a high note. Guests were also entertained by the Photobus – a custom-fitted, retro VW bus where they could have their pictures taken.
Who said lunch events can’t be fun?
